Three Staburo presentations at the Biometric Colloquium Conference in March 2021

Three presentations by Staburo members have been accepted at the Biometric Colloquium “Scenes from Biostatistics” virtual conference of the German Region of the International Biometric Society (IBS-DR) that will take place from March 14 to 17, 2021 (https://www.biometrisches-kolloquium2021.de/en/startseite-english/).  
Laura Schlieker will present “Precision medicine in action – the FIRE3 NGS study”, which is co-authored with Nicole Krämer (MorphoSys), Volker Heinemann (University Hospital, University of Munich and DKTK), Arndt Stahler (DKFZ), and Sebastian Stintzing (DKTK and DKFZ).
Gabriele Bleckert’s presentation will be “Tumour-growth models improve progression-free survival estimation in the presence of high censoring-rates”, on which she has worked with Hannes Buchner (Staburo).
Hannes Buchner’s talk is titled “Evaluation of event rate differences using stratified Kaplan-Meier difference estimates with Mantel-Haenszel weights” and is based on joined work with Stephan Bischofberger (Staburo) and Rainer-Georg Goeldner (Boehringer-Ingelheim).

Introduction to R online course 

Our course “Introduction to R course” will be a 2-day course from 28 to 29 January 2021!

The course, which takes place online, is about providing a solid foundation in R, the popular open source programming language in statistics and data sciences. As a preferred tool for complex data analyses it is applied in every industry. This R programming course will give an introduction to the basics of R. In the two-day course you will learn how to program in R, how to perform data analysis in R and how to visualize your results graphically.

The course is mainly addressed (but not restricted) to professionals who are interested in data science (e.g. Statisticians, SAS Programmers, Data Managers) and who want to learn the very basics of R. Further, this introduction is helpful for participants who wish to brush up on their knowledge in R.

The course will be held in English and the detailed agenda will be sent out a few days before the start of the course. You find more details here!

G-BA approves Staburo supported study on cancer treatment through stem cell transplantation

A new study in collaboration with Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and CTC North GmbH & Co. KG has been approved by the German Gemeinsamer Bundesausschuss (G-BA) on December 4. The G-BA has commissioned the UKE to research the benefits of allogeneic stem cell transplantation to treat multiple myeloma in relapsed/progressive patients. The project is led by principal investigator Prof. Dr. Nicolaus Kröger of UKE. Staburo GmbH is responsible for the statistical analysis.
