Staburo @ APF Meeting by International Biometric Society German Region
On November 26, Staburo participated in the annual workshop of the APF (working group Pharmaceutical Research) by the International Biometric Society German Region.
Staburo Presents at University of Konstanz about the Work Life of a Biostatistician
Susanne Steinhauser from Staburo GmbH presented the working life of a biostatistician at the ‘Mathematik im Beruf’ series at the University of Konstanz. The series of lectures aim to introduce possible future working fields to students and PhD students of the mathematical faculty.
Christmas Party 2021 @ Staburo
The Staburo Christmas Party followed the “tradition” of an online event for the second year in a row, but we made the best of the situation and had a very jolly time. As last year, the delivered food boxes contained a three-course menu, which was prepared by each participant after the year in review by Managing Director Dr. Josef Höfler.

Overcoming the challenges of a pandemic can feel like trying to move a mountain, but on September 23rd we came together (with distance) as a group to move some stones. The Staburo Sports Day wasn’t just our way to replace the annual B2Run event, but a sorely needed reconnect with our colleagues.
Staburo’s Isar picnic
Since we all still work mainly from home, we were really looking forward to having a picnic together on the Isar – in the fresh air and with a lot of distance. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t quite play along, so we had to move our event from the Isar to our office courtyard equipped with large umbrellas.
JCO Published Results of Staburo-Supported Study Investigating Stem Cell Transplantation as a Reasonable Treatment Option for Older MDS Patients
The results of the so-called VidazaAllo Study – with Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) being the sponsor – has been published by the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO) on July 20. The key objective of the VidazaAllo Study was: Can allogenic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in older patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) improve overall survival in comparison with standard 5-azacytidine (Vidaza) therapy?

New Staburo Office
We took the opportunity to move to a bigger office space recently. The move was – due to home-office as current preferred way of working – logistically easier to perform than expected. We now rent a much bigger space than before and thanks to the top floor location, it has a very light and airy feel!
