Staburo Team Selected to Present at ISCB/GMDS Conference 2026
We are pleased to share that Maria Stark, Senior Data Scientist, and the team representing Staburo in the GMDS Biostatistics Competition have been selected to present their work at the upcoming ISCB/GMDS Conference 2026.
The GMDS Biostatistics Competition brings together statisticians and data scientists to work on a challenging biostatistical problem and explore different approaches to its analysis. This year, a total of 17 teams submitted their solutions, demonstrating a broad range of methodological perspectives and ideas.
Following the evaluation of the submissions, five teams were selected to present their work during the concluding workshop at the ISCB/GMDS Conference on September 29, 2026. The Staburo team will be among them, sharing its approach in one of the selected short talks.
Participating in the competition provided our team with a valuable opportunity to apply statistical expertise to a challenging problem, explore different methodological approaches, and contribute to the scientific exchange within the biostatistics community. We are delighted to see this work recognized by the competition organizers.
The exchange will also continue beyond the conference. Follow-up activities are planned to give participating teams the opportunity to share additional methodological details, tools and code. These activities aim to foster further collaboration between the participants and support the preparation of a potential joint publication.
We are proud of this achievement and look forward to seeing Staburo represented at ISCB/GMDS 2026, exchanging perspectives with the other participating teams and the wider biostatistics community.
